I haven't been on the forum for some time and it seems I've missed a lot. My number one rule is never talk about religion or politics, for me it never fails and always ends up in a fight or someone getting their feelings hurt or offending someone. Not sure who it was that got banned, but I'm kinda glad I missed it.

As you can tell by looking at my post count and the amount of time ive been a member I rarely post but I lurk everyday, and I really hope that what I posted yesterday had no influence in getting someone banned from this forum ,I was just flabbergasted by some of the posts made about the death of someone.
It seems maybe because we are all getting older that someone is experiencing some form of death or illness and is in need of good cheer from folks here to help keep their spirits up in a difficult time and those posts just struck a nerve.
Again Im sorry maybe I shouldnt have said anything and kept on lurking.
    Rock On,
On a side note good to see you posting again Montyrob and I hope your marriage and family life are going well it seems like yesterday when we were all at Jaxx together, time flys.

Question Uhmn Policy & Procedure Question?

    Hey Jeff?
If a person consumes too much alcohol one evening and puts up a post thats say "Borderline" with the new rules....and there is a complaint.

Will you be giving a warning first? Prior to a ban? You know give the person the chance to remove the thread and a verbal warning?

Just curious as to "The procedure"?

Danamal, for the record, I appreciated everything you said and was glad you said it - you do not need to apologize, but it speaks to your common sense and decency that you did anyhow in case anyone was offended.

I don't think the "new rules" are anything anyone employing basic common sense and common courtesy would need to worry about. I think they are things most of us already know but now they are in writing for the record. I doubt there is anything we really can't discuss if we are able to be civil and fair and considerate in how we express it. All of us are drawn to a heated controversy, obviously, and the band's music has always had a rebellious streak that connects with all of us as well.

I don't see Jeff or Dave or anyone setting any unreasonable limits that we can't figure out - we will still have fun and discuss things naturally and agree to disagree and maybe even be able to say a couple of shocking things for the sake of freaking people out without causing harm to others or embarrassment to the band. Can we be the rowdy thickheaded yahoos we are without being totally out of line? I think so.

Treat others as you want to be treated, and there will be no problems.

I think thats enough for most of us to know what is and is not acceptable.

    But this explains it further:

These are very simple, almost NO BRAINER rules that everyone with a little common sense will easily abide by with no problems whatsoever. However, if you choose to ignore these very basic ground rules, you will be removed from the forum post-haste and with very little further warning.

I think that's how it should be - don't you?
