View Full Version : Recording from VHS to DVD

Just wondering what exactly this process entails as far as programs and/or equipment. I have Nero Start Smart which supposedly has this option. But what do I need in terms of cords and whatnot. I'm not as tech-savvy (or as patient) as I used to be, but I'd like to give this a try as there are a lot of videos I'd like to preserve (the two official Y&T ones for example) and a lot of old cartoons I'd like to get for the kids. As always, I appreciate any help from my forum friends.

This site is very good answering questions, for me
the best programs are
TMPGEnc Plus 2.5
with this program you can change the format of the video,
fullscreen, 16:9, fix sound and a few other things.
TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6
with this one you can author the dvd (make the menus) and if you have nero
you should be ok.
And you also need a capture card, vcr, and i would start w/DVdrw's...and lots
of patience. Also you might wanna check, what media works best with your
Dvd player, you should be able to do that at the site.
Good luck
