I tried to post a jpeg on one of my posts but it says that there isn't enough space to put the pic. How do I shrink the size so that it fits ? Thanks

I had the same problem and you probably have it figured out by now, but if not, go to *show yourselves* and click on the 1st thread by H2O.

Can you use the same process you use to shrink gifs?

Try using the GIMP (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/) to resize your images. I've used it under Linux, and from what I can remember it was good. My understanding is that it has all of the features you get with Photoship/Paint Shop Pro. And unlike those products, the GIMP is free.

What I meant to say on my previous post was that I couldn't figure it out so I went to photobucket instead.
Thanks Rockin Donkey. It's good to know how to do that too.

So I decided to play with my comp and try and get the jpeg to be more workable. First, I went into paint and tried to edit the photo. I did manage to make it smaller only when saving it still saved the same size so that was a waste. Then I went into this program called photoimpression I have which has some cool features. I again shrank the picture but could not shrink the background or fill it in as black border. So I did get the picture to load on the thread of Sykes but the damn thing is too big so that sucks. Basically batting .500. Hope this helps someone else out there. I will play some more when I am more patient.

You want to resize a pic to about 400 x 400 and it will not be to big.You can do this with Photobucket under the edit option. It will shrink a pic from 75% or 50% or 25% of the original you upload.
