We chose this forum because it has an almost infinite amount of options & tweakability for both the user & the admin. So far we've only just scratched the surface of what is available, but below are some basics to finding your way around the new features. Have fun exploring the possibilities!

FAQs:
Right off the bat, if you have any questions that haven’t been addressed here, please use the FAQ’s built into this site. Just click on the link in the top menu.

User CP:
This is your “user control panel” where you activate most of your forum functionality and profile information. Spend a little time here to look through all of the options. There are many choices you can make here that will liven up your experience while visiting this forum. You might want to start with Edit Options, which has control over the time zone you see, the kind of edit view you can use for posting, private messaging options and more.

How to add an Avatar. These are the small pictures that you see below the user name. To add one of these to be visible in your profile & posts do the following:

1. Make sure you are logged in first, then click on the User CP (in the upper left corner of the main menu bar)
2. Click “Edit Options” scroll down to the “Thread Display Options” and click on “Show Avatars”
3. Scroll back to the top of that page & click on “Edit Avatar”
4. Here you have multiple choices.
A) You can choose from the numerous Avatars we have available on our server (scroll around the different categories – each category has multiple pages of avatars for you to you to choose from). Click the circle underneath the avatar of your choice.
B) You can link to an avatar on another site by typing in the link to that file.
C) Upload a custom avatar from your computer. Simply click the “Browse” button & direct it to the file on your hard drive that you want to use.
5. Click the “Save Changes” button on the bottom of the page.

How to “see” Avatars on the forum:
1. Make sure you are logged in first, then click on the User CP (in the upper left corner of the main menu bar)
2. Click “Edit Options” scroll down to the “Thread Display Options” and click on “Show Avatars”

How to see and add smilies to your posts:
1. Make sure you are logged in first, then click on the User CP (in the upper left corner of the main menu bar)
2. Click “Edit Options” scroll down to the “Miscellaneous Options” section & choose either the Standard Editor or the Enhanced Interface
3. Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of that page.
4. Now when you either start a new thread or reply to one, you will have a bunch of different smilies that show up on the right hand side of your text editing window.
5. If you wish to see “all” the smilies available to you click the “More” word near the bottom of the smilies & a new page will pop up with many more to choose from.

What’s Going On?
On the bottom of the forum main page are some interesting facts & information to check out. Here you can find out quickly about upcoming events within a 2 week period & who the latest user to join our family is.

And one of the coolest new features you will probably visit a lot is the
Currently Active Users:
Feeling a bit voyeuristic? Click on this link at the bottom of the main page to find out who is presently online & what specifically they are doing. Kind of weird, yet kind of cool at the same time.

Why is my Member # different from the old forum?
Many of you will notice a slight change in the member # that shows up in your posts. This is due to the importing of the user records from the old forum. Some banned and defunct users have been deleted through the years, creating gaps in the numbers between many members. When all the current users were imported anew, those gaps were filled up. So if you were number 19, but users 17 & 18 have been deleted, you would now be member # 17, and so on.

Calendar:
Check the Calendar by clicking on the link on the top of the menu bar. If you included your birthday in your User Profile it will automatically show up on the calendar.

New Posts:
Click on this link at the top of the page & find out what the newest posts have been since your last visit.

Search:
On the top menu bar, use this to search for anything at all in the past year on this forum.

Quick Links:
Located on the top menu bar, this drop down menu gives you quick access to many of the most common functions that you may want to use on a daily basis, including many of the things mentioned above.

There are countless other features & tweaks that will not be addressed here but are more than likely in the FAQ. We urge you to access that document first to see if it can answer your question or issue. If you are stuck, feel free to post a question here. One of our Admins, Moderators (or friendly, knowledgeable forum members :) ) will be happy to answer your questions.
